Libya occupies one of the most extreme territories on Earth. It is the fourth-largest country in Africa (1.759.540 sq. km) and shares borders with Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Algeria, Tunisia.  Almost 95% of Libya is covered by the desert.
